What does our session cost cover? All shooting and editing time, a disc with the edited images, copyright and printing rights to the edited images, and an online gallery to order prints from/share with family and friends.

Do you have a studio? No. Everything is on-location. I’m happy to meet anywhere in the OKC metro area if you’re interested in discussing a potential booking, and I do newborn sessions either in my own home or in the comfort of yours.

What kind of design do you do? Mostly 2-D, or print design. This could include company branding, poster design, invitation and other paper product design, etc. I dabble in motion graphics and a little bit of web design in terms of general layout. I also love the conceptual side of design in you need someone to brainstorm with.

Do you do product/commercial work? Unless it is part of a branding campaign I’m designing for, then no. I only use my portable studio set-up for newborn sessions.

Do you travel for wedding & portrait sessions? Absolutely! I love to travel, and a change of scenery is welcome. I’m willing to travel anywhere as long as travel expenses would be taken care of by the client.

What should we wear for our portrait session? I suggest bringing 3 outfits. Most people do a mix of a casual outfit that expresses your personality, a dressier outfit, and something of your choice. This is a great time to go shopping for something AWESOME to wear. I want your session to express who you really are, so dress comfortably, and though coordinating outfits are nice, try to avoid extreme matching.

What should be expect for our portrait session? Family and bridal sessions only take about an hour, and engagements take no more than two. Newborns can take anywhere between and hour and two, depending on how the baby is doing. We will explore, try new things, and get as many candid shots as possible, so come ready to have fun!

What if we need to reschedule? Will the weather determine if we need to reschedule? Being an Oklahoma native has taught me that you can’t always expect ideal weather conditions, so we usually tough it out if we can. However, if we’re dealing with high rain chances, intense wind, freezing temperatures, or if severe weather is expected to come in during our session, we will reschedule. I prefer to shoot outdoors in natural light to provide the best images, and indoor locations are hard to come by for back up, especially places that will let us shoot for free and at a moment’s notice. Either way, we will make the call 24 hours before our scheduled time.

When we get our disc of photos, can we get them printed anywhere we want? You have complete freedom to do what you want with the disc of images, including getting prints made at the place(s) of your choosing. However, I would highly recommend ordering prints from the online gallery I provide you with. You are guaranteed to get the best quality for the best price from this source.

What is your turnaround time? 4-6 weeks for weddings, 2-4 weeks for portrait sessions.

How many photos will we get back? You will get the best 500-700 photos from your wedding, and the best 100-200 from your session, depending on how long the session lasts.

What equipment do you use? I shoot with all Canon products, and do everything else with Apple/Mac products. I am constantly investing in the best equipment to ensure the best possible quality for my clients.

How much editing do you do? Can you erase physical flaws upon request? I like to keep photographs as natural as possible, and while I may remove a few distracting blemishes, I will not do extreme airbrushing. I want to capture your real beauty. Most of the editing will simply focus on color enhancement and overall composition. If this is a major concern of yours, then I would highly recommend hiring a makeup artist, especially for your wedding. It’s totally worth the investment, and it will make a world of difference in your photos!

Do you use back-up methods? YES. I am definitely a “just-in-case” packer, so I will always have back-up equipment on every shoot. I will also back up your images onto a series of hard drives to prevent any loss of images.

How many images will be in color, and how many black and white? Every session is different, but I love to keep the natural color in images if possible. However, some moments may have a bigger impact in black and white, especially if lighting isn’t the best. That being said, you can expect about 15% of your photos to be in black and white.

Can you take a black and white photo and make just one part of it in color? Or vice versa? I will not do these kinds of edits under any and all circumstances, or print any photo with this kind of edit. I want to maintain a reputation of consistency and keep the photos as natural as possible. I simply don’t feel that this kind of edit accomplishes this, and it is against contract for the client to make the edits themselves. Thank you for your cooperation.

How long will you keep our session on file? All sessions (weddings included) will remain on file for a year after the session date. You have that amount of time to decide if you want any custom products ordered as well.

What do I need to do to book you for my wedding? If your date is available, then we will arrange to meet and discuss the details to make sure we are a good match for your needs and expectations on your big day. If we both feel great about everything, I require a signed contract and 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your date. The remaining 50% is due upon my arrival to your wedding. If you need to pay me the rest after the wedding for whatever reason, I will still take the photos, but you won’t receive any of them until I receive the final payment. If there is another inquiry for your date, I will book on a first come, first serve basis. The date will go to whoever gets the contract and deposit to me first. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Should the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony? This is entirely up to the couple. I am completely comfortable working with whatever you decide, but in my personal opinion, seeing each other before has a lot of benefits. If you have a “first look”, you will have an intimate setting with just the bride, groom, and myself. It’s a special moment to really take everything in and focus on the fact that you are marrying the love of your life on this amazing day. It allows for us to take all of the family/bridal party photos before the ceremony, which makes your reception arrival time a lot quicker (the guests will thank you for this). More importantly, it allows for us to get more photos of the two of you, and it doesn’t take away from the moment he sees you walking down the aisle. My experience has proven to make for a more relaxing day in general. Capturing this intimate moment between the two of you will make for priceless photos, and the emotion will still be there when you walk down the aisle.
